We are delighted to announce that Treseren has received the Silver award for Best New Tourism Business 2019 at the Cornwall Tourism Awards!
With the wealth of amazing businesses across our county, this year Cornwall Tourism reported a record number of entries that broke previous records with nearly 740 entries across the whole region in all the categories.
Head of Visit Cornwall, Malcolm Bell, commented: “The awards shine the spotlight of excellence on some of our best and leading tourism operators in Cornwall. It is this excellence that makes Cornwall one of, if not the leading, UK holiday regions. It celebrates not only the businesses but also the team work from staff, managers and owners as only team work can deliver excellence.”
The application process was incredibly rigorous, with two judges visiting Treseren in September and looking in person at our offer for small, intimate weddings and boutique holidays.
We were judged on the quality of our venue and the service we provide for our guests, as well as our new developments this year with the additions such as the fire pit area and beautiful sail cloth over the terrace which has been the perfect spot for our weddings, with a number of couples opting to hold their summer ceremonies underneath it.
Cornwall Tourism also looked at how sustainable we are as a business. We are really proud of our links with local suppliers for both the food we provide for our breakfasts and welcome feasts and aim to reduce food miles. For example, the beautiful Cornish Plaice that was the centerpiece of Sam and Natalie’s welcome feast was delivered by Fish For Thought after landing in Newlyn the previous morning – it doesn’t get much fresher than that!
We also love that the toiletries we offer our guests are from local aromatherapist Mary’s Shed and beautiful stationary for our weddings from local company Scalet Paperie

The Awards Ceremony took place on the 7th November at Truro Cathedral and as we were allocated 4 finalist tickets, Paul and I invited two key members of our team who have been with us since the launch of Treseren. Izzy, our Digital Marketing Manager and Marie, our Head Housekeeper joined us for the wonderful meal and ceremony and we had a great evening celebrating everything we have achieved this year. We enjoyed a delicious three course meal with entertainment from Cornish comedian Johnny Cowling – not forgetting the refreshments from the Tarquin’s Gin Bar!
