Long, bright evenings call for sitting around one long table with your favourite people with a glass of wine, passing round yummy plates of food. Our amazing chefs, Sarah and Zoe, prepare delicious platters to all share at the meal we host to welcome you and your guests to Treseren for a magical small wedding celebration. Our summer menu feasts have the buzzy, convivial atmosphere of a summer barbeque, with a touch of luxury. We so enjoy looking after every guest throughout your intimate wedding with foody offerings and the welcome evening is where it all begins. A perfect chance for you to all relax into being totally taken care of throughout your stay.
We love seeing how much this first evening means to couples and their guests. For some couples, it is a very special occasion for their families to meet for the first time and put faces to names and stories. For Audrey and Oscar’s lovely wedding this July, Audrey’s family came abroad from America. Their welcome meal was a savoured chance for everyone to get to know each other, and finally share in person the excitement for the weekend. We were touched by Audrey’s kind words after their wedding:
‘The Friday night meal at Treseren was a beautiful evening for myself and Oscar. Watching our families hit it off and enjoy time together really put me at ease before the wedding. Sitting around the table with all of our loved ones was everything we had wished for. The table was set beautifully, the food was delicious, and our families were all so happy and smiling celebrating our love. The entire atmosphere was so warm and beautiful. I remember thinking Friday night that there was no way Saturday could top it because of how perfect it was.’ Audrey, Treseren Bride
For some guests, the welcome meal is very much a festive evening to kickstart the celebrations. The first chance of the occasion to get dressed up and enjoy drinks in the gardens or terrace before a vibrant meal. For others, just to relax knowing the prep for a gorgeous meal is in somebody else’s hands (and not having to think about the washing up!) is enough of a treat. Everybody is sure to get a good night’s sleep before the big day, feeling at home and well fed.
We absolutely love Kathryn and Alex’s hearty attitude to a foodie weekend:
‘The welcome dinner, and the breakfasts each morning, were fit for royalty and we didn’t regret canning our wed-shred efforts a day early for the privilege of stuffing our faces with such excellent food before the ceremony.’ Kathryn and Alex, Treseren Bride and Groom
Sharing Feasts
Having arrived to fresh tea, coffee and homemade cake and having the chance to settle in (and to hang up those suits and dresses!), we bring out a few nibbles. House-roasted nuts to Sarah’s special recipe and Cornish olives accompanied by a drink from Loveday’s Bar or complimentary wine get the evening started nicely.
Ahead of your wedding you will have the chance to peruse our menu and pick your main as well as lots of lovely side dishes. We have carefully curated a menu of sharing platters, centred around the best Cornish produce and seasonality. To read through some of the stories of our lovely local suppliers, and the goodies we grow at Treseren, keep an eye out for Our Local Suppliers blog post next week!

Recently, we all enjoyed sitting down together and sharing a spread of summer menu highlights, perfected by Zoe as always. She made a sharing feast for us all of Beef with Salsa Verde and Sesame Tofu with zingy Quinoa Tabbouleh as a vegan option. It was tricky to choose from the lovely summer menu sides but we went for Rosemary Roasted Hasselback Potatoes and Caponata Stuffed Red Peppers. Bringing bright colours and crunch, we also had Red Cabbage Slaw and Heritage Tomato Salad. What a treat!
To finish, we were all over the moon to have Zoe’s pavlova adorned with summer berries and oodles of fresh cream. She also whipped up a vegan one, which got everyone’s enthusiastic approval too. Our autumn welcome meal menu features seasonal apple crumble made with apples grown in our orchard at Treseren.
We cook everything from scratch at Treseren and are always more than happy to adjust dishes to suit dietary requirements. Our lovely vegetarian mains include Beetroot and Bean Burgers, and we can make all of our sides vegan too. So please do let your wedding planner know if anyone is dairy free, gluten free, vegan etc… We are also used to cooking for fussy eater children too, so no need to worry there! Do get in touch to plan your intimate wedding stay, throughout which you can share in fantastic food with your loved ones.
