A Place to celebrate living, to marry the one you love. A place for family and friends, making memories and sharing good times
There’s always a flutter of excitement at Treseren as we prepare to open our doors for the first wedding of the year. Following our Christmas break, where the whole team take time to re-charge with their families, we use the first few weeks of the year to re-set and focus on the year of weddings ahead. In January and early February, we are closed for weddings, but we are incredibly busy behind the scenes. It is our annual window for renovation and renewal; this year the kitchen has had a complete make-over and our cottage wing uplifted with a beautiful new scandi-style carpet, paint and re-design of the bedroom interior. (We can’t wait to show you – photos coming soon!)
The beginning of the year is also our thinking time. At Treseren we are surrounded by nature and the changing rhythm of the seasons. As snowdrops peep out along the driveway in January and the early camelias open with a flush of bright pink, we watch the sweep of daffodils emerge and start to bloom. Our focus on the year ahead and all the small details that make Treseren weddings special also blossoms. Before we opened in 2019, when the idea of hosting small and beautiful weddings was just an idea, we dreamed of creating a space that would be both welcoming and serene. A blank canvas for each couple to imprint their memories in a home from home atmosphere, yet with a sense of occasion for their special day.
The love and laughter at the weddings we have hosted since opening have been testament to this initial idea. We are proud to have won four gold awards, but we don’t want to stand still. We believe it is all the special touches that help create this atmosphere and this year we will be adding some lovely new additions to the Treseren experience. There are a few little moments of sparkle that we have added to our couples’ journey with us that are surprises, so we can’t share here, but we do hope that they are received with the love in which they have been conceived! Below are all the exciting new things we’ve developed that we can happily share and can’t wait to show you all…
Our beautiful new help-yourself shelf
We are here to welcome you with tea and coffee and homemade cake on the day of your arrival. At breakfast time and throughout your wedding day we make as many pots of tea and cafetieres of coffee as needed. But for those who like an early morning cuppa, and if you have booked a long weekend with us and we hand the keys to you after Sunday brunch, we want to make it even easier for you and your guests to help yourselves. With a full array of tea and coffee options and some lovely treats in our biscuit jar, we think we have everybody’s needs covered!
Our Welcome in guest bedrooms
We’ve sourced some beautiful vintage trays for the new welcome in guest bedrooms. Each tray holds a bottle of water and glasses, some roasted cashew nuts to snack on, as well as a lovely postcard of Treseren that guests can take away as a momento of your wedding and their stay.
New additions to our Breakfast Menu
We’re passionate about good food and eating well is always a big part of a Treseren Wedding
We have been recipe testing! Blueberry pancakes have always been a firm favourite on our menu and this year we have created the perfect vegan pancake mix. We can also make our pancakes gluten-free on request, meaning nobody has to miss out on this scrumptious breakfast treat.
For those who love their pancakes with bacon, we have added pancakes with crispy bacon to the menu, with a home-made roasted hazelnut and pistachio praline added for that extra crunch!
Taking inspiration from Izzy, our Events Manager who loves a good café and trying out vegan options at local eateries, we have added a delicious new savoury vegan option; scrambled tofu with roasted cherry vine tomatoes on sour dough toast.
Along with our homemade jams, Treseren homemade Granola has always been a star of the show at breakfast. We haven’t changed the recipe – so many of our guests have asked for the recipe that we published it in our journal and you can find it here, but we have added some gorgeous new jars and labels for our cereals which make our breakfast table look even more beautiful!
Fabulous new cocktails at Loveday’s Cocktail Bar
We light tomorrow with today from generations past, to generations to come who will enjoy this house
As ever, Loveday’s Cocktail Bar is a firm favourite with couples and their guests and we keep making it better! We grow edible flowers to garnish our drinks and make our own syrups, so a lot of love goes into each and every cocktail.
New for 2023, we’ve been expanding our cocktail list to include some more of the classics. So many of our guests last year asked for a Mojito, which saw the bar team running to our herb garden to pick a handful of mint, that this year we are prepared! We have officially added a Mojito to our list of cocktails – and we are growing more mint to make sure we have plenty in supply for this popular refreshing sipper!
We have also added our North Coast Margarita – a twist on the classic with a Cornish raspberry liqueur and our homemade raspberry syrup creating a beautiful pink tinge to this cocktail. We can of course make the classic Margarita for those who prefer to drink the original recipe.
Loveday’s celebrates the history of our Mine Captain’s House which dates back to 1819 – so an Old Fashioned seems the perfect drink to round off our menu. A whisky-based classic cocktail, we think this new addition is going to be popular at our small weddings this year.
Our first small wedding of 2023
We welcomed Matt and Sophie for the first Treseren wedding of the year, and what a beautiful day it was. The winter sun bought incredible light into our Wedding Room where a stunning creation by Pippa at Zennor Wild created a focal point for their ceremony. Captured beautifully by Sarah and Jon of Lyra and Moth, their small wedding was attended by their two children and we were lucky to be present to witness the love and joy of this special family elopement.
Sophie and Matt wrote in the first page of our brand new 2023 Treseren guest book. The first imprint of many more memories to come:
“… You welcomed our family like it was your own and every single detail was so thoughtful and special. Treseren and all the staff will forever hold a special place in our lives, we feel blessed to have been the first wedding of the year and for all the love and kindness you showed us.
Treseren – the most magical place in which time stands still and where love, kindness and pure joy spill from every inch of its grounds. A place of tranquility and pure bliss”
Love Always
Matt, Sophie, Rio and Gus
