We were delighted to open our doors on Saturday 15th March and welcome lots of lovely couples to experience the magic of a small wedding in Cornwall for our spring Open Day.
Whilst we offer guided virtual tours, it is always so lovely to welcome people in person to get a real feel of the atmosphere of Treseren – I may be bias, but it really is quite special!
We were treated to clear blue skies, so we were able to explore the gardens and set up a Walnut Tree ceremony, with the addition of croquet and table tennis setting the scene for Treseren summer garden party weddings. Instrumental guitar from Steve of Scenic Route on the terrace is such a great addition to a small wedding, so it was great to have Steve with us for the day. Steve also plays as a duo with his wife Jenna, and they are a great option for ceremony music or evening entertainment on a small scale at Treseren.
Great food and drink is such an integral part of a Treseren wedding, so alongside Natasha serving cocktails from Loveday’s Bar, we were lucky to be joined by the talented Chef Fiona NZ who created delicious canapes for each couple to enjoy. Fiona is passionate about cooking with local produce and fresh flavours, often incorporating elements of inspiration from her travels to her dishes. Fiona only cooks for small parties as this means she can give the food more attention to detail and the highest quality can always be achieved – a perfect match for Treseren! Cornish Yarg and Sweet Red Onion Tartlets
Pani Puri – Dal, Tamarind, Mint, Tomato
Slow Cooked Lamb Bon Bon, Black Garlic Aioli
Raspberry and Rhubarb Lamington
We of course had to include beautiful floral decoration, and Emily from Three Acre Blooms worked her unique magic with beautiful Cornish grown tulips, daffodils and even the very first ranunculus of the year! The staircase at Treseren always looks beautiful with floral touches, and wildflower meadow boxes are the perfect finishing touch to a Walnut Tree ceremony, particularly when the tree comes into full leaf in June.
Tilley from Flicksbox has become a regular at Treseren weddings and she is such a perfect fit – a photo booth on a petite scale makes those fun photo moments possible, and Tilley also has great sustainability credentials as she is made from an upcycled vintage gas lamp.
A valued member of our Treseren supplier family, the lovely Michele from CraftyCakeHole kindly created a special Treseren Open Day cake for us, alongside cupcakes so couples could try some of the different flavour options. Michele is such a talented baker and caters for all dietary requirements – so our vegan visitors did not miss out on cake tasting!
The Drawing Room is home to our beloved Bechstein piano, which is always available for wedding guests to play. It is however always an extra special experience when couples choose to book a pianist for their wedding celebrations, and the talented Finlay Melville joined us for the afternoon to treat visitors to some musical entertainment.

We had such a great day sharing the magic of Treseren with everyone that visited. We sent couples away with goodie bags including jars of honey from the Treseren bees, Cornish vodka made from waste potatoes from Colwith Farm and Seedball matchboxes – one of our favourite sustainable wedding favour options.
