We couldn’t let Valentine’s Day go by without celebrating the romance of Treseren. Our beautiful bolthole is a romantic wedding venue for elopement weddings just for two, or for small, intimate weddings of up to twenty. Here’s a little round up of the small, but significant romantic things that we love about Treseren…
1. Our venue is the real Poldark’s House!
Steeped in history, Shepherds House was built for a Mine Captain and our very own Ross Poldark, Captain Middleton, lived here in the early 1800s. Famous for his discovery of the biggest lode of silver and lead in his time at local East Wheal Rose Mine, and a hero in the mine disaster that claimed 41 lives, his story is full of romance and tragedy.
Perhaps Captain Middleton’s adventures were the real-life inspiration for Winston Graham, the au-thor who created the famous tales of Ross and Demelza and lived a few miles away from Treseren and East Wheal Rose Mine in Perranporth. 2. Breakfast in Bed on your wedding day
Elopement, runaway weddings just for two are the perfect act of romance. Time to concentrate only on each other, this special kind of wedding is deserving of a delicious breakfast hamper for two, full of homemade goodies delivered to your door.
Of course, if you are here for a wedding weekend with your friends and family, we can sneak you up a breakfast hamper if you would prefer a little bit of alone time.
3. Star Gazing
Treseren translates from the Cornish / Gaelic as ‘homestead under the stars’. With no light pollution and a countryside setting with no visible neighbours, our secluded spot is perfect for star gazing with the one you love.
4. Secluded pathways
As well as the wide lawns, there are some lovely little secluded walkways in the grounds that wind between the camellias and hydrangeas. A turn around the gardens has an air of Jane Austen style old fashioned romance, as you get lost with each other in the secret gardens, hidden amongst the beautiful flowers and shrubs.
5. Middleton, our master suite
Light and spacious, with true elegance and beauty, Middleton features a ridiculously comfortable super king bed with a bespoke headboard upholstered in artist Carolyn Quartermaine’s hand printed French linen.
The elegant slate grey chaise longue positioned in the bay window gives a wonderful feeling of connection to the outside, looking out to the tree lined canopy and sky beyond. It is the perfect spot to enjoy morning tea or a glass of champagne. We love that this room is not overlooked in any way and feels incredibly private. A stunning space to enjoy the build up to your ceremony.
