A proud Cornish fisherman’s daughter, Chef Natasha is passionate about sourcing sustainable local ingredients, and this is reflected in her amazing dishes. As well as delicious fine dining options, Natasha offers a unique outdoor wood-fired dining experience, which we were lucky to experience earlier this year.
The Menu
Marinated barbeque pork shoulder
Blistered herb potatoes
Grilled halloumi
Charred savoy cabbage
Ash baked carrots
Served with apple sauce and mustard gravy
Ash baked chocolate orange, clotted cream, hazelnut praline cookie
The wood fired flavours elevate this from an ordinary barbeque menu, to something very special. The joy of the cooking is that there is no rushing, and guests can come and chat to the chef about the fresh local produce that they will be treated to and witness the cooking process. On this particularly autumnal day, we were also grateful to warm ourselves up around the fire!
The delicious local pork was seasoned simply with olive oil, paprika and sea salt before being slow roasted over the coals for 4 hours to create that delicious crispy wood fired crackling. The vegetable accompaniments were just as delightful, with crispy garlic charred cabbage and ash baked carrots dressed with local honey.
Of course, desert did not disappoint, as Natasha debuted ‘Ash Baked Chocolate Oranges’, filled with a wonderful gooey chocolate ganache.
Into the evening as the fire dies down, cosy up under blankets and enjoy toasted marshmallows with twinkling fairylights on the terrace.
