We wanted to share Megan and Tom’s wedding story with you to illustrate that despite the current obstacles that couples are facing with ever changing rules and restrictions, at the end of the day, love always wins.
Megan and Tom had originally planned a big wedding at a larger venue, but like many were faced with the decision of postponing to an unknown date or even worse, cancelling. Instead, they embraced the new possibilities facing them and contacted us to start planning their small but perfectly formed wedding celebration with just four close friends as their witnesses.
We were able to help and juggled bookings so they could keep the same wedding weekend they had originally booked with their larger venue – we were so delighted that we could make this work for them.
Their wedding weekend at the beginning of September was one to remember. It was such a brilliant atmosphere! As we are just a 10 minute drive from the Cornish coast, the boys decided to start the day with an early breakfast so they could go off for a swim at the beach, allowing the girls to enjoy a leisurely breakfast and a morning of fun wedding preparations. Later in the day Meg’s cousin and bridesmaid Holly set up a cocktail station, having perfected the art of making cocktails during lockdown!
Although relaxed, the day certainly wasn’t lacking in style, with the boys in smart navy suits and marl waistcoats (the beaming September sunshine meant sunglasses were an essential finishing touch to the look) and Megan wearing the most beautiful beaded gown. Cat from Tide Flowers created the buttonholes and bouquet in elegant blush tones and installed a breath-taking floral arch on the terrace. This was the first time we’ve had a floral arch positioned on the terrace and it felt picture perfect as it was framed by the green of the trees and gardens beyond.
After the ceremony Tom and Megan escaped just the two of them for photos in the dunes at our local beach whilst their friends relaxed with their cocktails and played table tennis on the lawn, before sitting down to a private dining experience with a tasting menu by Chef in My Home.
‘Every second of our day and whole stay was completely perfect, and we wouldn’t change it for the world!!
I don’t think any words will be able to truly explain how grateful we are but thank you from the bottom of our hearts for giving us the most amazing wedding day we could have ever imagined!! It was everything we could have hoped for x 100!! Treseren and Cornwall will be in our hearts forever!!’ – Megan and Tom
We are so happy that we were able to help Megan and Tom have the wedding day that they deserved and wish them all the happiness in the world.
