We are really excited to have booked a number of couples for their weddings at Treseren in 2019, but as we are such a new venue, we are yet to have our first real wedding. Whilst we are waiting with excitement for the first one this summer, we thought we would share some of the favourite real weddings we have had the pleasure of being guests at.
In March 2013, Emma’s sister, Bree got married on the Northern beaches in Sydney, Australia to local Sydney-sider, Ross. They found the perfect al fresco spot high above the city for their ceremony and reception. The view was incredible. The atmosphere on the day was upbeat and so very happy.
The Dress
Bree’s dress was one of the most beautiful I had seen. Bespoke made from a vintage dress she found and adapted to create a stunning backless gown with an air of romance, it was finished off with a pair of gold Jimmy Choos.
Continuing the gold theme, Bree’s friend Rickie shone as Chief Bridesmaid in a stunning sequinned dress. The little bridesmaids looked sweet in simple, ivory dresses that Bree had discovered on a trip home to England the previous year.
Ross, The Groom looked stylish, along with his brother, Ian who was the best man.
The Details
Bree arrived in a vintage car, and along with her vintage inspired dress, and a gorgeous trunk for the cards this wedding had plenty of old time soul, added with some stunning modern twists with the brightly coloured flowers and a global feel with favours – little salt and pepper pots, from Nigeria.
From the hand made cakes made by Bree’s side of the family, to the celebration with bottles of beer at the speeches that felt so Aussie, we loved the coming together of the English and Australian families and all the little details that made the wedding so personal to them.
Al Fresco weddings
You would imagine you would be guaranteed sunshine if you were getting married in Australia. But on the day we were treated to the full range of Australian weather – from hot, hot sun, to a torrential down pour of rain! Our son, Max helped gather up all the outdoor furniture and bring it in to the marquee, with a big Aussie round of applause!
The Vibe
This wedding was full of love and happiness, with a big dose of fun thrown in. We partied the night away in Aussie style, with a make shift limbo pole adding to the entertainment.
But the most memorable part for me was the incredible Hollywood style kiss, a moment captured beautifully by Paul with his stunning photography on the day. Paul is our resident photographer at Treseren, see more of his work on our Wedding Photography page.
Six years on we still remember all the great moments from a beautiful wedding day and Bree and Ross were really happy to share their wedding story with our Treseren couples for real wedding inspiration.
