It’s a common misconception that a small, intimate wedding won’t have all of the details of a big wedding – and that is just not true! The beauty of choosing to have a small wedding is that you can choose to include all of the details that you do want, and you can actually spend more on the individual styled elements, whilst still keeping your overall spend down.
When it comes to styling your intimate wedding, choosing a venue that is already a beautiful blank canvas will give you a head start. Treseren is an elegant Georgian country house, so the architectural features, high ceilings and light, airy rooms set the scene already for a super stylish celebration. It’s then over to you to add your own personal touches! We have seen lots of different wedding styles at Treseren and each and every one has held it’s own magic – from minimalist to maximalist – from soft, pastel hues to vibrant pops of colour.
The Flowers
You can really go to town on floral decoration for your small wedding – with smaller spaces to decorate, the wow factor is easily achieved. At Treseren, we work closely with your florist to ensure your flowers have maximum impact, and move ceremony installations for dining later in the day. The Georgian staircase always looks amazing adorned with seasonal flowers, and creates a real photo moment as the bride walks down the stairs before the ceremony. Situated next to our cocktail bar, this also makes for a popular photo opportunity later in the evening!
Flower meadows look amazing under the Walnut Tree and in the Wedding Room, and create that quintessential English Country Garden wedding vibe perfectly. We work with talented sustainable florists who will advise as to which flowers are in season for your wedding date.
Bridal bouquets and bridesmaids’ bouquets become perfect windowsill arrangements after the ceremony and photos too!
The Stationery
We could talk about Wedding stationery at small weddings all day – this is an area that we have seen couples have real fun with at Treseren, and given their guests experiences that just would not be possible for a 100plus guest wedding. From personal, handwritten letters for every guest with calligraphy envelopes acting as place cards, to crocheted figures and hand drawn caricatures – you can really make your guests feel special and create a fabulous dinner table talking point. Wedding favours can also be really special items that will be treasured, rather than feeling forced to provide throwaway items because the cost per head needed to be kept down. Jars of Treseren honey and personalised Jo Malone scents are our standout favour memories to date.
The Cake
A small wedding cake can still make a statement! Whilst on a smaller scale, you do not have to compromise on style or design for your small wedding cake. Whether you decide to decorate the cake with fresh flowers or add a custom personalised cake topper – you can add your personality to the cake too. Cakes decorated with your wedding flowers are perfect for an English garden party wedding celebration, whilst a vintage heart shaped cake with a handwritten message is perfect for a retro inspired small wedding.
