Shepherds House

Georgian elegance meets contemporary cool at Shepherds House, the former residence of a Mine Captain, with Austen-esque proportions and an air of romance.

Introduction

Set against a muted palette of greys and whites, the stunning architectural features dressed with vintage Murano chandeliers and modern art, create a wonderfully characterful space. Shepherds House has gained National press attention for its beautiful spaces, featuring on the pages of interior magazines and blogs, and as a location in the fashion shoots of major brands.

A stylish retreat for discerning guests, the house offers luxury linens made for lie-ins, gardens filled with wild strawberries and raspberries and book shelves stocked with
interesting reads for fireside reclining. From lazy summer days to magical winter stays, the best of Cornwall’s coast and country combine.

Relaxation

The luxury of space can be found in abundance at Shepherds House. From the sitting room with its soaring sash windows where you can gather and enjoy drinks and conversation, to the snug complete with Xbox and movies, there’s something for everyone.

Retreat to the slate grey antique chaise positioned in the bay window of Middleton, the Master bedroom, to recline, enjoy the garden views and your very own time. A place where busy souls can look forward to embracing a more relaxed pace of life. Open and light in summer, warm and convivial in Winter, Shepherds House invites you to kick off your shoes and relax, true Cornish style.

Bedrooms

Located on the first floor, the four bedrooms in Shepherds House are named after the prestigious Mine Captain who resided at Shepherds House in the mid 1800s and is part of the rich vein of history in the local area. Our very own Ross Poldark, Captain Middleton was in charge of East Wheal Rose Mine, a few miles from the house which became Internationally renowned in the Georgian era for its discovery of silver and lead.

“Such a lovely stay in our dream house! The children had the time of their lives in your garden. Thank you for the wonderful hamper. You have thought of everything. Counting the days until we can stay again”

Regards, April

“Fun as always in Cornwall and lovely to be back for our second year at Shepherds House! We absolutely love the gardens where we and the children spend so much time!”

The Rankins

“It is seldom one finds a “home from home” to equal Shepherds house. The attention to detail and level of comfort cannot be surpassed. The elegance and comfort surround you at every turn and it has been a privilege to share a much loved home with the owners Emma and Paul.”
