Your wedding morning sets the tone for the entire day – here are 5 top tips for a calm, well planned wedding morning from an experienced wedding coordinator who has seen more wedding mornings than she can count!

As the Events Manager at Treseren, I have been lucky enough to be part of countless wedding days, and I am always happy to share the top tips I have learnt along the way. At Treseren, we hold your hand throughout your whole wedding journey, from planning through to coordinating your day – so we are there with you to make sure that these things are never forgotten and that everything runs smoothly. We want you to savour every moment of the wedding morning magic!

If you’re searching for practical wedding morning tips, these are my top five essentials to help you feel relaxed, confident and ready for a magical day ahead –

1 – Remove hair bands (and don’t wear socks)!

We’re talking little details here! How many ‘normal’ days do you spend with a hairband on your wrist? A lot if you’re anything like me! It can be easily forgotten, but when you look back on your wedding photos you will kick yourself. Best practice is to take any hair bands off wrists the day before to avoid any marks on your skin – and the same goes for socks! Do not wear socks on your wedding morning – cosy fluffy slippers are a much better substitute for both comfort and style anyway (I mean it, stay away from the socks!).

2 – Take your bridal bouquet out of water in good time

Half an hour before your ceremony is a good time to take your bouquet out of water – make sure the stems are dried off on a tea towel as you don’t want any water marks on your dress. This is a good time for your photographer to capture pre-ceremony photos with you and your bouquet – the chaise lounge in Middleton is a particularly special spot on a Treseren wedding morning.

3 – Steam your dress the night before your wedding day

One of the most important wedding morning tips: do not steam your dress on the morning of your wedding. Your wedding morning should be calm and unhurried, and hair and make-up artists will not thank you for adding steam (and stress!) to the room.

At Treseren, we have a full-size dress steamer and are always happy to provide moral support the day before. If your dress has already been professionally steamed before travelling, it will often only need light attention. Bonus tip – to ‘steam’ your veil, simply hang it on the back of the bathroom door when you are having a hot shower.

4 – Start getting into your wedding dress an hour before the ceremony

This often surprises people, but there are lots of things that happen in the hour before your ceremony start time, so the timeline is really important! You will need to have a private interview with your registrars 15 minutes before your ceremony (or 30 minutes before, if there are two brides), and you will want to have time for bridal portraits. If your dress has lots of delicate buttons or corsetry that takes time to secure and perfect – then you don’t want to be rushing.

5 – Go to the toilet – before you put on your dress!

This one speaks for itself really – but it pays to be remembered!!

I absolutely love hosting small weddings at Treseren and the magical atmosphere of a wedding morning is something that just cannot be put into words – the excitement in the air is contagious. All of that hard work planning the perfect timeline comes into its own, and I take my clipboard responsibilities very seriously! Whilst these tips are all important things to remember, my number one piece of advice is simple:

Enjoy every second.

Your wedding morning only happens once – let it be calm, joyful and full of magic.
