Meet Marie, Head Housekeeper at Treseren. Marie is a vital member of the Treseren team – and as well as keeping the house sparkling, she always has a big smile on her face! We caught up with Marie to find out a little bit more about her.
Tell us a little about what you did before you joined Treseren?
Wow what did I do before I joined Treseren!
A couple of years before joining the Treseren Team, I had my own swimwear business. I designed my own collection and sold in stores and online. I also am a carer for my beautiful boy Kieron who has a rare genetic condition. He is my world and an amazing young man.
Treseren is on the edge of the village I live in and the work I do fits nicely with my care role for my son. From 1992 until 1999 I was part of my family business in Newquay running a small guest house, which is where I gained the experience for my role at Treseren.
When did you join Treseren and what does your day-to-day role entail?
I was there when Emma went live! I remember Emma saying ‘That’s it, we are live..’
So, I am proud to have been a part of a very amazing business & growing team from the beginning.
I am part of the housekeeping team, making sure the stunning house is immaculate for your special day and stay with your family and friends. We are the hidden part of the team, in a good way, gone before you come and there after you have left. But a very valued part, and Emma & Paul are so appreciative of all their team, and we feel very valued.
What are the things you most enjoy about your job?
My passion in life is always to do the best you can. Making Treseren look perfect for the guests makes me feel happy. The house is simply stunning and shutting the front door after a 5 hour clean is a satisfying feeling. Emma, Paul, Max, Georgia and Acer make you part of the family which is great. We have a fab team and we all get along so well, which is always a plus when in a working environment. I feel so proud to say I work in an award winning business!
What is your favourite part of a wedding day?
I’m not often present at Treseren wedding days, but I remember my feelings on my wedding day! Wow such a mix of emotions. The whole day is the favourite part. Truly every minute of that day is a different feeling and the memories will stay with you forever.
Since having our son, I am a great believer in making memories. Have fun with your friends. Laugh and dance – and most of all travel when and if you can. Make memories that will last a lifetime. It’s your day! Make it about you and your partner.
What’s your favourite room, or spot in the grounds at Treseren?
Well considering I spend quite a bit of time in these rooms I do know them quite well! The house itself is stunning and all of the rooms have their own feel. I have to say, knowing how this room was before and what it has become I’m going to say Loveday’s Cocktail Bar. All of the work that has gone into this room and all the attention to detail with the painting, the furniture and the decor, it truly looks fab and the name is great. I can’t wait to drink some cocktails in there soon – we’ve been promised a team party when guidelines allow!
