We thought it was about time we introduced you to the Treseren team, starting with our Marketing and Events Manager, Izzy. Izzy works closely with all of our couples to plan beautiful small weddings as well as running our social media accounts and working on marketing strategies.
We caught up with Izzy to find out more about her and her role at Treseren.
Tell us a little about what you did before you joined Treseren?
Before I joined Treseren, I completed a degree in Fashion Design and had worked in various roles from assisting designers to creating social media strategies and planning and running events. My job at Treseren allows me to combine the experience and knowledge gained in all of these roles and apply them to both marketing and creating beautiful weddings – a dream come true!
When did you join Treseren and what does your day-to-day role entail?
I have been involved in the marketing story of Treseren from the very beginning and I have absolutely loved working with Emma and Paul. I can remember so clearly when I first visited and I was blown away by how beautiful the venue is, from the Georgian architecture to the beautiful contemporary interior design. I feel very lucky that I get to work here every day now!
As well as marketing tasks, like running the social media accounts, I also help couples plan their perfect small wedding. After a Treseren wedding is booked, I am available to answer questions and help put a great supplier team together, and I will often also be the on-the-day wedding coordinator.
What are the things you most enjoy about your job?
I love the variety and that no 2 days are the same – one day I will be planning the blog schedule, and the next we will be welcoming 22 guests for a beautiful small wedding. I always feel so privileged to be involved in such a precious occasion – it’s impossible not to soak up the joy in the air on a wedding day! I’m with Treseren couples from step one in their wedding planning journey, so being there to see all of the ideas and plans come together is always a special moment.
It’s also great to be a part of a small, close-knit team who are all passionate about making each wedding amazing. Emma and Paul are quite possibly the nicest bosses you could hope for, and we recently won Wedding Venue of the Year at the Cornwall Tourism Awards which was a real boost for the whole team.
What is your favourite part of a wedding day?
It has to be the moment I see the wedding dress. I’m always so excited to see what the bride has chosen – although, I will often have been given some insider information before the big day! It’s so magical to see a dress that reflects the bride’s personality, and you can always see how special they feel once they’ve got the dress on. Yes, I do have a Pinterest board full of wedding dresses! Of course, we’ve also seen some very suave Groom’s outfits at Treseren weddings.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I’m not sure it can be classed as a hobby, but I am a serial café visitor! I love watching the world go by with a good coffee and a slice of homemade cake (I’ll happily give you the lowdown on the best cafes in Cornwall) – usually combined with a walk in the Cornish countryside.
I’ve loved sewing since I was a little girl and always have a project on the go and i’m a lifelong cat lover, with 3 of my own at home.
What do you think are the key ingredients to a perfect small wedding?
I think the key ingredient to any wedding is the people that you share it with, and small weddings are so special because you are sharing that day with the people that truly mean the most to you in the world. Because Treseren weddings include a 3 night stay, you get to really enjoy quality time together and nothing feels rushed – plus you get to imagine that you live in a beautiful Georgian house! In addition to your wonderful guests, I think staying true to yourself is important. If you want to keep it simple then do, but equally, if you want a statement floral installation and a hot tub for the weekend, then go for it.
What’s your favourite room, or spot in the grounds at Treseren?
This is a really tricky question! I could easily pick any room, but I think I’m going to say Middleton, the beautiful master bedroom. With the original stripped floorboards, dual aspect windows and luxury soft furnishings, this room has a magical feeling of grandeur as you enter – certainly fit for a wedding day! It’s a great space for bridal parties to get ready, and provides so many perfect photo opportunities, from relaxing on the elegant chaise lounge to hanging the wedding dress on the period wardrobe.
We will be introducing you to more members of the Treseren team soon!
