From cooking amazing breakfasts for hungry guests to assisting on busy wedding days, Daisy is an extremely valued member of the Treseren team. Daisy is also our team star baker and has created countless amazing cakes for Treseren guests – particularly memorable is the showstopping sticky toffee pudding for Dionne and Stephen, which became a highlight of their day! We caught up with Daisy to find out more about her and her role at Treseren.
Tell us a little about what you did before you joined Treseren?
Before I started at Treseren I was a student at Truro School studying my A Levels in Biology, Psychology and Geography. Alongside my A Levels, I completed the Leiths certificate in food and wine, a qualification which is also accredited as a Level 3 certificate in professional cookery. My Leiths teacher Maria actually put me forward for the job as she was in contact with Emma and it was a great surprise to find out I would be working at her stunning wedding a few weeks after joining!
When did you join Treseren and what does your day-to-day role entail?
After joining the Treseren team in the September of 2020, I have been involved in a large variety of roles including: providing breakfast service for couples and guests, cooking welcome meals upon arrival and assisting Izzy and Emma on wedding days. We’ve also recently been trained to serve cocktails in the newly renovated Loveday’s cocktail bar which will hopefully get lots of use throughout the rest of the season!
What are the things you most enjoy about your job?
The Treseren team atmosphere and working environment is so special and unlike anywhere I’ve worked before. Weddings are such happy environments to work in you can’t help but feel such joy for the happy couples and guests, everyone always has a smile on their face. It’s such an honour to be a part of that magic, surrounded by such an amazing team. To maintain such amazing reviews and feedback from guests, it makes all the hard work worth it.
What is your favourite part of a wedding day?
It’s such a privilege to be a part of the wedding day, watching all the organisation come together, from the flower arranging, hair, make up, setting up the ceremony space, arrival of guests all the way through to the evening where everyone is relaxed and reflecting after a successful ceremony, every moment is special. But my favourite has to be the big reveal of the bride in her wedding dress, the feeling of excitement never diminishes.
What do you like to do outside of work?
My Family and I love walking so we often go on long walks exploring the Cornish Countryside and Coast. Living in Cornwall I also make the most of swimming in the sea – one of my favourite hobbies.
What do you think are the key ingredients to a perfect small wedding?
You can’t go wrong with lots of music, flowers, and yummy food and drink!! Everyone’s always so happy to be at Treseren after lots of planning – the mood is always high and I love the atmosphere of everyone enjoying themselves, it makes my job very rewarding.
What’s your favourite room, or spot in the grounds at Treseren?
The whole house is absolutely stunning and we are also so so lucky to be able to walk out into such a beautiful garden. The new terrace stretch tent area and the walnut tree have to be some of my favourite spots however its so tricky to choose – I love it all.
