Our friends, wedding couples, suppliers and team. We have shared such love and joy over the last year. It puts in to even greater perspective the uncertain times in which we now find ourselves. We are trying with all effort to keep, as best we can, a happy ending to all the weddings that are being overturned or postponed as we write. We will keep our love and optimism and strive to work with one and all to bring out the very best conclusions, to re-arrange, postpone or amend where ever we can to make your wedding day happen in the way it was planned. It’s taking great effort on all our parts to make that happen and at the same time try to manage the tremendous uncertainties of our extended working family and our community. We keep hope for their well being and financial security. Despite the challenges we will keep talking and working and together we will resolve this situation. We will answer all your queries and help wherever we can… most of our couples are already chatting with us and we are finding solutions. We thank everyone for their positive attitude and patience – there’s a lot to sort out. But sort it we will. We wish all of you a safe and mindful passage through these most challenging of times and send love to you and your families in the hope that everyone will come through to fulfil the wonderful plans we had all made together.
Although we do not yet know when we will legally be allowed to re-open, we are working hard to stay in touch with Cornwall Registry Office and making plans with our team for when that can happen. We also know that some of our couples have pressing reasons to get legally married as soon as possible (even if it is just the two of them eloping as and when this becomes viable and compliant with government policy).
As a venue we have written to all of our couples to let you know what we are doing to prepare and put extra measures in place to ensure you can marry happily and healthily as soon as we are able to re-open.
We wanted to let you what we are doing as a venue to prepare for the eventualities and protect our couples as far as possible based on current information available.
HYGIENE AND NEW CLEANING MEASURES
We are monitoring the situation and we will be complying with all Government advice
Before we re-open in we will schedule a deep clean of the house
We have a specialist oven cleaner coming to deep clean our oven before we re-open
Our cleaning team keep the house to a very high standard and we will be checking everything thoroughly at each change over. Whilst the threat of the coronavirus is still present, extra attention will be paid to cleaning commonly touched surfaces such as light switches / door handles etc
We will be extra vigilant about hygiene for our staff and guests with soap available for hand washing and disposable paper towels for hand drying as opposed to hand towels
STAFFING YOUR WEDDING
We have a pool of staff and we will ensure everybody on the team is healthy who is scheduled to work with none of the symptoms that the NHS are asking people to look out for such as a new continuous cough or a fever. In this case we will be asking them to self-isolate and not come to work for the Government recommended period
Equally we would ask all our couples to check that they and their guests are healthy before travelling to their wedding
We are monitoring the movements of our venue team plus our key wedding suppliers to ensure they have not recently travelled from highly infected countries (China / Italy / Korea / Iran) and if so they are under going self isolation for 14 days)
Emma is in touch with other brilliant wedding planners/ co-ordinators who we work with in the event of her personally not being able to be here to co-ordinate your day due to any infection / need to self-isolate so that your wedding will run smoothly even if I am not able to be here (which would be a very last resort for me, I absolutely will be hoping to be healthy and here for you)
LIVE STREAMING
In the event some of your guests cannot travel to attend, we would be happy to look in to the possibility of live streaming your wedding for you so that if you have important people that cannot be there physically, then they will still be able to witness your ceremony as it is happening. We realise that is not the same as being there, but something to ensure they don’t miss out entirely. Paul will be working on the technical side of this.
MAKING A PLAN B
Of course, like you we hope that your day can go ahead as planned with all your guests present and we know how much energy and excitement in planning that you have put in to making it all happen. If this is not the case and events outside of everyone’s control mean that the wedding cannot go ahead on the date as planned, we are working with all our couples to come up with a plan to re-arrange your wedding.
We are always here for you and will be happy to chat through concerns / work out the best way forward if there are any difficulties you are experiencing your end so we can make joint decisions and work through the issues thrown up by the coronavirus and the ever changing situation that we all face. This is new territory and we want to stand together with you to find solutions.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch whether via email, text, or picking up the phone for a chat.
Sending Love
Emma and Paul x
