There are so many different ceremony location options for your small wedding at Treseren, that it can often be hard to decide a favourite! Whether you want to embrace the great outdoors or have an intimate ceremony in the Drawing Room, we’ve outlined each option in this blog post together with images from magical real weddings, to help you envisage your perfect ceremony spot.
On the front lawn
The lush green Camelias and Rhododendrons at the far end of the front lawn make a beautiful English country garden ceremony setting. A moongate flower arch creates the perfect focal point for beautiful photographs. This can also be placed in reverse, with the slate hung house façade as the backdrop.
The Wedding Room
The doors at the end of the Wedding Room make a great focal point for your ceremony, with optional floral installations. You can flow straight out of the doors for the perfect confetti shot on the steps, leading to champagne and canapés outside. In the winter months, we have even thrown confetti inside, and flowed through to the Drawing Room for a cosy reception.
The Wedding Room (Reverse)
For larger groups, it can sometimes work well to reverse the ceremony set up in the Wedding Room. If you have live music, then the musicians can set up under our shade sail on the small terrace, and the wedding couple can make their entrance from the front of the house, across the front lawns and in through the open doors.
The Drawing Room
For intimate elopement weddings, the Drawing Room is the perfect space for a romantic ceremony. The fireplace is a great focal point, enhanced with beautiful florals and twinkling candelight. The Drawing Room can accommodate up to 4 guests.
The top terrace
Adjacent to the Wedding Room, the top terrace is a great ceremony option to embrace the Cornish sunshine. Our shade sail offers additional cover, and you can flow seamlessly down the steps for a sun-filled champagne reception. The ceremony can face towards or away from the house, with optional floral decoration creating a focal point.
The Walnut Tree
Our 200-year-old walnut tree stands proud on the lower lawn, and makes a beautiful backdrop for a garden ceremony. You can choose to add extra floral decoration, or let nature’s beauty take centre stage.
The Lower Terrace
New for 2021, the lower terrace is covered by a stretch tent, making it a great option if wet weather is a possibility, and also a perfect shady area for sunny days. The verbena lined pathway creates a beautiful entrance aisle and the large terrace is a perfect blank canvas for floral decoration, with views of the gardens beyond.
As of July 19th 2021, civil ceremonies can take place entirely outside. This will be reviewed in April 2022, and we hope to see it extended. If there is a return to the previous regulations, then the ceremony can be completed by stepping inside the French doors to our licensed Wedding Room for the signing of the register and declaratory words.
We have been lucky enough to host so many different ceremonies at Treseren, and we work closely with you and your registrar or celebrant, to make sure the flow of your ceremony is tailored to perfectly fit your day.
